Our Story

About Heather

Hi! I'm Heather, and my story with pediatric sleep challenges actually began 10 years ago with my daughter and first born. I was that naïve new mom in the pediatrician's office saying "but don't babies just sleep when they're tired?" while her doctor just looked at me wide-eyed and jaw agape. It was at this point that I was first introduced to sleep training.

When my son came along in late 2018, I thought I had this sleep stuff down. Boy was I wrong!! There is so much to know and I only knew part of it. Not to mention, it can be really confusing when you're in the thick of it and overwhelmed as a parent to a newborn.

For the first 6 weeks, we struggled with his sleep due to dietary intolerances that took some time to diagnose. During that period, we had introduced a lot of bad habits out of sheer desperation! So when I tell you I've been there, I have truly been there! We did literally everything wrong.

I remember rocking him while he napped at about 3 months of age while also messaging a sleep consultant because I was so tired and felt like I had utterly failed my baby! If this sounds familiar to you - you have not failed! I promise!

This introduced me to the world of Pediatric Sleep Coaching and I have been forever changed. After getting my son sleeping and my own sanity back, I began researching how I could help other families in the same way.

Today, I am a Certified Pediatric Sleep Coach through the Institute of Pediatric Sleep and Parenting and love my job! Nothing makes me happier than to know that I've made a difference in the life of parents and their babies.

My Philosophy

My philosophy is to always work with parents to understand your parenting style and your baby's personality along with what challenges you are currently facing. It is by understanding these key pieces of the puzzle that I will fully customize a sleep plan for your family. In my plans, I include a whole host of additional tips, tricks and best practices to enhance your understanding of pediatric sleep.

When we've completed our time together and your baby is sleeping beautifully, I send you off with a Wake Windows Guide and "Bumps in the Road" document. Pediatric sleep is not linear. Just because we have it mastered today does not mean that things will always be smooth sailing. However, with the use of both of these documents, you will have the tools you need to get right back on track!

Will I ask you to force your baby to "cry it out" alone in a room while you don't ever check on them? Absolutely not. I believe that there are many other options to help teach babies and young children to sleep that are just as effective. My goal is always to match the sleep coaching technique to the family and your particular needs.

Our mission

My mission and passion is to help sleepless parents and their children learn healthy sleep habits, ultimately resulting in a well rested family.

I achieve this by educating families on the ins and outs of pediatric sleep and coaching you while you teach your lil one to learn to love their sleep!

"Heather is AMAZING! At five months I was still getting up every 1-2 hrs with my son. I had created the habit of nursing him to sleep so he was unable to connect his sleep cycles without me. With Heather’s help my son now self soothes and puts himself to sleep without crying! And the best part is it only took a week! I still dream feed him before I go to sleep but otherwise he sleeps until morning unassisted!

Heather truly cares and listens to all the intricate details that make your baby unique and helps formulate a sleep plan tailormade for your baby and family. Thanks to Heather, I’m now able to spend more quality time with my husband, be more present for my son, and my son is happier than ever! Heather is so attentive, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I can’t recommend her enough, she’s wonderful."

"Heather is very knowledgeable and listens to all of my sleep concerns. She is very thorough in looking all aspects and provides education in baby sleep, while explaining the reasoning for modifications. She worked with me and my family to create a personalized, simple routine with very small changes.

Implementing her suggestions helped my baby sleep longer throughout the night and have more predictable nap-times. She really cares and listens, providing great suggestions to night weaning too. Once I implemented her suggestions to my routine, I saw immediate changes. It was so simple too!! My baby went from waking up 2-3 times at night to getting up 1 time, which I’m going to night wean soon using Heathers suggestions. Also, when I deviated away from the routine, my babies sleep got much worse. However, once I reimplemented her suggestions, my babies sleep improved within a night.

Babies sleep is confusing and it’s nice to have a friendly, kind, knowledgeable person to help guide through the sleepless nights. I highly recommend Heather, she is very compassionate about babies sleep and is easily available. I’m grateful for all her help!!"
